Aurangabad & Ajanta. After our fantastic yet eventful day at Ellora we took Linda to the local hospital where an x-ray showed she had indeed broken her wrist, 2 hours later and all plastered up we decided to take it easy before going to explore the Aurangabad Caves. Much smaller in scale than the Ellora caves we found these to be every bit as good, after the caves we went to see the Baby Taj Mahal in Aurangabad, Bibi- Ka-Makbara. What a surprise this was, really very similar to the real thing and in our opinion better as there wasn't the 1000's of tourists to negotiate. The next day we headed North to view yet more caves at Ajanta, these had possibly the most spectacular setting and held some awesome sculptures, the only downside was the tourist police who were really being a pain, we couldn't even use a mini tripod !! anyway when they were not looking we took full advantage of the fact and simply took our pics in a clandestine fashion. Opposite Ajanta caves there is a hill with a view point, yes we climbed it ! Linda did really well seeing her arm was in a sling.. The pictures below are from Aurangabad and Ajanta.
