Exploring the compact centre of Mysore is quite easy and we soon found ourselves outside the Maharajah's Palace, this truly is a palace. the buildings are simply awe inspiring.
After wandering around the Palace we made plans for our next full day, we were going to the Rangnathittu Bird Sanctuary. This again was brilliant we were able to get up close to some fantastic wildlife, only feet away from Night Herons, Open Billed Storks, Painted Storks and Crocodiles. Al from a small rowing boat ! Superb.
After visiting the Bird Sanctuary we went to see the temples at Sringapatnam, to be honest they were ok although the Gumbaz was really worth the visit.
Today, Thursday 21st, we continued our tour of India's Hospitals, this time Linda has been having toothache. For a princely sum of 10 Rupee we saw the head Dentician who diagnosed an infection so Linda is again on Antibiotics..
After the Hospital Visit we went to the Chamundi Hills and the Chamundeshwari temple, the walk down is some 1000 steps but we stopped about a third of the way down to look at the Toro Nandi, a sacred Bull Statue. Back in town we walked to the Catholic Church of St Philomena.
Tomorrow we are catching the 07:00 bus to Ooty. Mysore was great.
